At UFC on Fox 22, UFC newcomer Mickey Gall submitted Sage Northcutt early in the second round. The 24-year-old has risen to stardom by defeating former WWE superstar Phil “CM Punk” Brooks and the highly touted and talented Northcutt.

Capitalizing on his victory, the 4-0 fighter called out UFC veteran Dan Hardy in his post-fight UFC interview.

“I’d like to welcome back Dan Hardy. He says he wants to come back for a marquee fight—I think I’m a marquee fight right now. I’d be honored to fight him, he’s a legend, I’m a big fan. I’d love to fight Dan Hardy.”

Hardy, however, rejected Gall’s callout, citing his lack of experience as the reason. In an interview on the MMA Hour, the Englishman stated:

“I appreciate the callout. I appreciate the respect that you’re showing me, but I’ve never fought anybody with less than eight fights. Not even in my first pro fight… We’re at different phases in our career. I’m not looking at knocking off a future contender that I could be commentating for in the future.”
